I never want "preachy" to be one of the terms to define us at Four Oh Seven. But, if there's one thing we preach about, it's the power of consistency.
It builds trust. It makes you memorable. It makes you look like the expert you are. And more.
We believe that consistency is one of the most powerful branding tools there is.
But, I've recently been learning that consistency can also be paralyzing.
Do our Instagram pictures all flow? Does the messaging sound the same on our website as it does in my newsletter? Am I using my logo correctly? Are we making good use of our brand colors? Am I showing up on a consistent basis?
It's a lot to keep up with and we work so hard to do so. And then we kick ourselves when we feel like we've slipped up.
We have to stay aware of when this is starting to happen. We can get so wrapped up in making something work that we're ignoring all the signals to change things up.
This is when consistency stops making you better and starts pulling you back.
That's because people, including myself, can so easily get caught up in thinking that consistency means you can't break the rules.
But being consistent with your brand day in and day out means getting intentional, not that you have to conform. It’s a commitment to stay consistent as you grow and change because all the pieces of your brand have to grow and change together.
So, don't think that there's no room for change. You should grow. You should explore. You should evolve.
We'll be right there next to you.
