Bettering your overall brand can seem like an intimidating task, but in reality, your branding can be improved in many little and easy ways. Below is a list of 10 easy ways you can uplevel your brand in your day to day!
1. Use consistent brand visuals.
If you don't have a brand style guide in place already, we highly recommend one! (If you want a little more info on those, check out this post). Having consistent colors, fonts, patterns, and other brand assets is a simple way to make your brand recognizable across all platforms.
2. Match your social media images and handles.
Make sure your profile pictures and handles on all your social media accounts are the same. Having the same image on all your platform may seem like a silly change, but not only does it help your audience recognize you on every channel, it helps you look professional. As far as handles go, we know it can be hard to get a consistent handle, but we think it's worth it, even if you have to get creative. When it came time to get our social handle, we discovered @fourohseven was taken on instagram, but not on twitter. So we decided to stay consistent and use @weare407 on both!
3. Use a consistent "about" line across the board.
Having a consistent one liner to describe your business on every platform is a great way to uplevel your brand! Having a consistent line creates confidence in understanding of what your brand does. This line is also useful to have if you are ever interviewed or featured by other brands. They can easily pull a line you have already carefully crafted to introduce your biz.
4. Invest in a professional headshot.
You are a huge part of your brand, so take the time to invest in professional, on-brand headshots. Your brand will feel more put together and you'll have another ready to supply piece when your brand is being featured elsewhere.
5. Find little ways to better customer experience.
Your brand is more than your look and feel, it's also the experience you offer. Try and incorporate little ways to better your customer experience, like supplying free materials for clients to use when they're done working with you, or writing thank you notes to customers who buy your product. It's the little touches that can go a long way!
6. Start a newsletter.
Or any other space where you can share with your community. Having a newsletter or exclusive group is a value add for your audience. Creating content specific to their wants and needs makes you a hero to your ideal customers.
7. Set up your email with your custom domain.
We strongly believe having an email with your own custom domain can help build trust in your customer communications. With so much spam mail in inboxes, having a custom domain lets customers know you're the real thing.
8. Stop saying, "I think" in your writing.
I always find myself slipping into this habit, but using "I think" or "I believe" makes it appear you are unsure in your message. Remember that you are the expert! And avoiding these statements reinforces that.
9. Repeat yourself.
We've said it a thousand times, but if you're not repeating yourself, you're doing it wrong! People may never notice your message if you aren't putting it out there as often as possible. Being repetitive helps you break through the clutter and be remembered.
10. Schedule your content in advance.
It can be intimidating to schedule out content, but you'll be so thankful you did! We always create an editorial calendar for our blogs a month in advance so we know we're writing consistently about the subjects we want to share more on every month. It also makes it easier to settle in to write a post on time when your subject is already decided for you.
