This post is for the service based businesses of the world. (Holllllaaa)
As service based bosses ourselves, we've always strongly believed that our clients situations are one of a kind. Therefore, it made sense to us to offer custom proposals to all of our potential clients.
But after a year of running our business this way, we started to realize that completely custom packages weren't always the best method for getting business done. So earlier this month, we introduced "packaged" services to our site. We wanted to share why we think it was such an important move in our business and why other service based bosses should consider creating their own packaged offerings.
It offers clients an experience.
Clients want to know you have a proven system that solves their problems.
A clear way to show this is by creating packaged services. These packages outline not only the steps you'll take, but what they'll walk away with after working with you. Before they ever leave your site, the client can know exactly what expect.
This means investing with confidence. How much more likely are you be to purchase something when you know exactly what you'll get every step of the way?
It shows your expertise.
By offering a limited number of packaged services, you are showing where your expertise lies. It has allowed to truly specialize in areas we know we are experts in. While we are capable of many areas of design, our packages showcase our most valuable skills up front.
Our packages are the sweet spot of what we found a majority of our clients were looking for and where we were offering them the best value for their investment.
It helps attract the right customers.
When you're offering an experience and showing your expertise, you'll be attracting the people you want to serve and who want exactly what you offer.
Potential clients for service based businesses are often wary of reaching out to experts. They're often overwhelmed from the very start. They are worried about finding the right expert, wondering if they really need the help, and questioning if they can figure it out on their own.
A packaged service can provide comfort for potential clients. Packaged services provides clarity and takes the guessing game out of it.
Packaged offerings do the work for you.
One reason we decided to create packaged offerings was because of the time we were wasting by creating what was virtually the exact same "custom" proposals again and again for clients. We would have the money discussion over the same packages every time, rather than agreeing up front what we knew our service was worth.
Packages allow you to streamline systems, saving you time on the behind the scenes so that you can focus on other areas of business.
That being said... Customized services aren't so bad.
In fact, we still offer them. Clients needs are still unique and sometimes tweaks are going to need to be made. And our end goal is to serve our client the best we can. But, our packages have helped us to create even better custom proposals by giving us and potential clients a much more clear guide on what their investment level may look like!
Overall, packages services have been a great move for our business. In order to best serve our clients, we have to attract the right people and be honest about where our greatest value lies. And that is truly what has made packaged offerings our new best friend!
