If you ever do a search with both the words "business" and "friendship", you'll immediately be bombarded by articles that tell you they simply don't mix. Well, that's what we're doing every day. And we LOVE it! With so much content out there detailing exactly why it's such a bad idea, we wanted to share why going into business with a close friend is the best decision we've ever made.
We know exactly what to expect
We like to joke that going into business together is like getting married. I even like to call Kristin my #bizwife. So just like couple going into a marriage, we were already pretty aware of each other's strengths and weaknesses. I know Kristin's critique is often delivered with no pats on the back and she knows how quickly I can go from being content to complete frustration. We still love each other anyways and use what we know about each other to make ourselves better.
We aren't afraid to be brutally honest
Whenever it's really needed, we trust each other and always know that whatever we say is said out of love. We don't have to tiptoe around the subject or walk on eggshells, which helps us make our best possible work. Even if one of us ever felt offended, we wouldn't be afraid to say so and work it out.
We always have someone to talk to
Our business consumes so much of our life, and it's awesome to have someone to talk to who truly, 100% just get it. Talking shop is never boring because we both genuinely care about every little detail. Not only do we get to share about every victory with each other, we get to go through it together.
The way we run our business wouldn't work for everyone, but we truly believe that doing this together has not only made our business better, it's made our friendship stronger! I love having a #bizwife who can take this awesome journey with me.
