We blog a lot about our business and other biz topics, but we wanted to start a little blog series that was just for fun! The new "Dreaming of.." series is a chance for us to share things that are a bit more personal, and hopefully a teeny bit interesting. At the very least, you'll get to learn a little more about us as people.
So what am I dreaming of right now? ICELAND.
Here's my plan for seven (as of right now imaginary) days in Iceland.
Day 1 - Reykjavik will serve as home base for most of the trip. There are tons of amazing and cheap AirBnb's to stay in, like this one or this one, or this one. And we'll have to rent a car so that we can see all the sites - I'm not a big fan of tour groups. Day one will be spent exploring the capital city. Wandering around, getting lost, grabbing coffee.
Day 2 - I'm leaving this day open. There has to be something about Iceland I have yet to discover. This will be the day for that. This hot spring can be the backup plan.
Day 4 - I wouldn't want to miss the sunrise on one of Vík’s black sand beaches. I've also read that you can't miss the opportunity to see this plane wreckage from the 70's if you get the chance. Next, we'll stop at Gullfoss for a quick look. We'll head here for the night + day five.
Day 5 - After spending the day in the hills we'll be back in Reykjavik. We'll stay at a new AirBnB because there are too many good ones to stay in just one.
Day 6 - We'll do some final exploring close to Reykjavik (like Seltun) + visit the Blue Lagoon. Some say it's overrated, but I've also read if you get there about two hours before it closes it's less crowded and pretty amazing.
Day 7 - One last morning in Reykjavik before heading home. Maybe breakfast, here.
At some point in those seven days, hopefully, we see the Northern lights. Fingers crossed.
I've longed to visit this country for awhile now (ask Lindsay, or my boyfriend, or my mother). I think it's time to stop dreaming and go. I'm obviously a little too prepared... I also think that in another life I was a travel agent because I enjoy planning fake trips a little too much.
If you go, can I join?
