When Lindsay and I started thinking about what the heck to talk about on this blog of ours, we both thought it was important to share with everyone why we do what we do. She already shared her “why,” so hopefully this doesn’t get too repetitive from her post.
At Four Oh Seven, our mission is to work with passionate people. People who are in love with what they are doing and why they are doing it. Our clients have stories.
So why do I do what I do? Where does my passion come from?
I strongly believe in the value of design.
Visuals are processed 60,000 times faster by the brain than text.
92% of buying decisions are influenced by visual factors.
And over the last 10 years, design-driven companies outperformed the S&P 500 by 228%.
I believe what I do is important. I like to help others succeed. For those reasons alone, I’m proud to design.
But why I do what I do every day, goes so much deeper than facts and figures.
It’s not where my passion comes from.
At the end of the day it’s all about the people.
There are so many movers and shakers out in the world following their “musts” in life. They’re not doing what the world says they should do, but what they need to do - pursuing their dreams, hopes, and passions.
That’s why my favorite part of the design process normally occurs before we’re even officially hired. It’s when we learn about our prospective clients and explore their “why” with them.
Through design, I get invited into their story and then work with them to tell it to the world. One person can do big things but I believe one person can do even bigger things when surrounded by a team. It’s a powerful thing to be a part of.
To know I’ve played even the tiniest part in helping someone's dreams become a reality is what drives me day in and day out.
