Welcome to our FIRST blog post for 2016! We're well rested and ready to take the new year on. As most people do at this time of year, we've taken a step back to start assessing our goals for the new year. Our first year in business we were rolling with the punches and learning as we went. This year we're really excited to gain a lot more focus in our business journey. We're putting our goals out into the world to help hold ourselves accountable. It's scary, but also makes them real. Without further ado, our 2016 business resolutions...
1. Double our annual income
This one is SUPER scary to admit. We didn't go into 2015 with any financial goals and were pleasantly surprised where we landed . This year we want to hustle hard and double what we made last year. We've got a specific number in our heads and a plan on how to get there.
2. Send one e-letter a month to our list
This year we want to focus on putting super valuable and meaningful content out there. We've been working on doing that here on the blog, but we're ready to start putting love into our email list. Our goal is to consistently send one awesome newsletter every month in 2016.
3. Create two different products
Products is a territory we have yet to venture into, but have always wanted to. We don't necessarily know if these products will be free or paid, but we just want to dip our toes in the water. We're hoping to create one product in the first half of the year and a second product later on.
4. Refresh and refine
This is something we want to keep on our resolutions for all the years to come. We're working together to refresh all of our documents to make sure it all feels on brand, including our website! We've also started reorganizing all of our files and more importantly, refining our systems. This one is easy to put on the back burner, however, in order to accomplish everything else here this needs to come first.
5. Consuming mindfully
With all the info out there in the biz community, we found ourselves getting a little overwhelmed last year. We learned so many valuable things from other business owners posts, courses and freebies, but we also didn't get the full value from a lot of those things. This year we want to be mindful about the info we're taking in and who we are taking it from. This year we're limiting our download of freebies to three per month so we can focus on the ones we already have and be intentional about when we click that save button. We've also unfollowed people on social accounts to create room for new inspiration — like over 100 unfollows.
On the personal side, Kristin's hoping to learn to knit while I want to work on my kitchen skills. We'd love to hear your goals/resolutions/resolves/whatever you want to call them for the new year — business or personal!
